Baseball Recap: Lawrence Academy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Lawrence Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They skirted past the Pungo Christian Academy Raiders 5-4. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Raiders on Wednesday, too.

Patrick Lundy and Hunter Eason made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Lundy pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Meanwhile, Eason pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lundy has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Lundy scored two runs while going 2-for-2, while Eason scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. Lawrence Academy is 2-1 when Lundy posts two or more runs, but 0-3 otherwise.

In other batting news, Nike Wiggins was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Simon Lundy was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Lawrence Academy's record is now 2-4. As for Pungo Christian Academy, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-3.

Lawrence Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against Pungo Christian Academy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
