Baseball Recap: Smithville Takes a Loss

Smithville lost a heartbreaker to Norwayne when they met back in May of 2024, and they left with a heavy heart again on Wednesday. The Smithies took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bobcats. The Smithies haven't had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Smithville's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Norwayne, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Smithville will venture away from home to challenge Lake Center Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tiger will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Smithies surely won't give up without a fight. As for Norwayne, they will take on Marlington at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats are on a four-game streak of home wins, the Dukes a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
