Preview: Calvary Christian Academy Conquerors vs. DuBois Christian
After three games on the road, Calvary Christian Academy is heading back home. They will take on DuBois Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Calvary Christian Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 190 points over their last three games.
Last Thursday, Calvary Christian Academy didn't have too much trouble with Johnstown Christian on the road as they won 63-45. Given Calvary Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while Johnstown Christian is ranked 746th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tyrell Lapp continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 20 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Micah Lloyd, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, DuBois Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. The contest between DuBois Christian and Blair County Christian wasn't particularly close, with DuBois Christian falling 45-28.
Calvary Christian Academy pushed their record up to 8-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for DuBois Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Calvary Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over DuBois Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 62-54.
