Softball Game Preview: Central Cabarrus Vikings vs. East Lincoln Mustangs

The Central Cabarrus Vikings will square off against the East Lincoln Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Central Cabarrus didn't have quite enough to beat South Rowan and fell 10-9.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, East Lincoln made sure to put some runs up on the board against Hickory on Tuesday. East Lincoln blew past Hickory 14-4. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Red Tornadoes: they've now won seven in a row.

Taniyah Thomas was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing Two bases. while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Brylee Belcher, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

East Lincoln now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Central Cabarrus, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Central Cabarrus came out on top in a nail-biter against East Lincoln in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Will Central Cabarrus repeat their success, or does East Lincoln have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
