Baseball Game Preview: Penncrest Lions vs. Radnor Raptors

The Penncrest Lions will face off against the Radnor Raptors at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither Penncrest nor Radnor posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Monday just wasn't the day for Penncrest's offense. They lost 8-0 to Garnet Valley on Monday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Lions were not able to get on the board.

Penncrest got a good showing from Zach Mullin, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Mullin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Radnor had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Cougars.

Penncrest has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Radnor, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Penncrest skirted past Radnor 11-10 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raptors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
