Volleyball Game Preview: Forest Hills Rangers vs. Central Dragons

After both having extra time off, the Forest Hills Rangers and the Central Dragons will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Forest Hills' victory against Bishop Guilfoyle wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Forest Hills skirted past Bishop Guilfoyle 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Rangers in their matchups with the Marauders: they've now won four in a row.

Forest Hills wouldn't go down easily and took Bishop Guilfoyle into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21, 22-25, 18-25, 15-12.

Carter Stoykovich had a dynamite game, getting 19 digs and one assist.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over McKeesport on Thursday.

Central had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-18, 25-13, 25-18.

Forest Hills better keep an eye on Blake Reynolds. He was instrumental in Central's win, getting 17 digs and four aces.

The win got Forest Hills back to even at 1-1. As for Central, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Forest Hills beat Central 3-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Does Forest Hills have another victory up their sleeve, or will Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
