Volleyball Recap: Leyden Comes Up Short

Leyden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Glenbrook North Spartans. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Spartans when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Glenbrook North's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Habin Park, who had six digs and three aces. That's the most aces Park has posted over her last ten matchups. Sophia Cameron also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Leyden's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Glenbrook North, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 19-1.

Leyden wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against South Elgin on the 4th. As for Glenbrook North, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Stevenson on the 4th.
