Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Guy-Perkins). Everything went their way against the Brinkley Tigers on Thursday as the Guy-Perkins Thunderbirds made off with a 16-1 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Thunderbirds considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Owen Glover made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Glover was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while going 2-for-3. Those stolen bases were his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Urijah Fortner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Dawson Watkins was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Guy-Perkins was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .640. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

With the win, Guy-Perkins broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-3. As for Brinkley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Guy-Perkins will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sacred Heart at 4:00 p.m. on April 1st. Guy-Perkins is facing Sacred Heart at the right time seeing as Sacred Heart is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Brinkley will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Riverview at 4:30 p.m. on April 1st.
