Basketball Recap: Bishop Neumann Comes Up Short

If Bishop Neumann was riding high fresh off their 73-44 takedown of Aquinas last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bishop Neumann Cavaliers took a 49-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grand Island Central Catholic Crusaders. The contest marked the Cavaliers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Grand Island Central Catholic got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Thomas Liban out in front who went 5 of 9 on his way to 10 points and six rebounds. That's the most boards Liban has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Thomas Birch, who posted ten points.

Bishop Neumann has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for Grand Island Central Catholic, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3.
