Basketball Recap: Montgomery Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Montgomery can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 46-33 victory over the College Station Cougars. This was a revenge game for the Bears: when they faced off against the Cougars back in December of 2024, they had to take a 46-41 loss.

Montgomery was led to victory by Janessa Tennison and Briley Esnard. Tennison dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 boards, while Esnard went 5 of 6 en route to 16 points and eight rebounds. That's the most rebounds Tennison has posted since back in November of 2024.

Montgomery's record now sits at 20-9. As for College Station, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-9.

Montgomery wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-38 win against Brenham on the 23rd. As for College Station, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 31-29 loss against Huntsville on the 23rd.
