Recap: Aspen Skiers vs. Plateau Valley Cowboys
The Aspen Skiers had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Plateau Valley 59-29 on the road. Winning is a bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 28% better than the opposition, as Aspen's was.
Aspen can attribute much of their success to Gio Seeman, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. Tommy Franceschi was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds.
Plateau Valley lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jack Vig, who scored five points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Bevan, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Aspen's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Plateau Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Aspen will head out on the road to face off against Roaring Fork at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Roaring Fork will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 265th, while Aspen is ranked 46th). As for Plateau Valley, they will square off against Prospect Ridge Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
