Eastern View took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Chancellor, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cyclones narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Chargers 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cyclones have posted since October 8, 2024.

Eastern View was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (107-103), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-23, 25-22, 20-25, 15-12.

Olivia Denham paced Eastern View's offense, picking up 12 kills. Denham got some help from Tatum Caparese and her 15 assists. Finally, Denham was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Mariah Adbulrahimzai and Bree Smith certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Adbulrahimzai had 11 digs, while Smith had 11 digs, ten kills, and two aces. Smith has been hot, having posted six or more kills the last eight times she's played.

The win made it two in a row for Eastern View and bumps their season record up to 4-7. As for Chancellor, with the loss, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 7-4.

Eastern View has already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against King George on the 25th. As for Chancellor, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against James Monroe on the 25th.
