Basketball Recap: Lakeview Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jack Gollow and Patrick Weaving

After flying high against Northwestern Regional last Friday, Lakeview came back down to earth. The Lakeview Warriors took a 63-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Nonnewaug Chiefs on Wednesday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-60 back in December of 2024.

Lakeview's loss came despite strong showings from Patrick Weaving and Jack Gollow. Weaving went 7 of 14 en route to 16 points along with eight boards and six assists, while Gollow went 5 for 11 on his way to 17 points. The game was Gollow's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Joe Sepples, who posted two points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Lakeview smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Lakeview's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Nonnewaug, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3.

Lakeview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 76-61 victory against Terryville on the 31st. Nonnewaug has also already played their next game (against Northwestern Regional), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
