Football Game Preview: Lawrence Academy Spartans vs. Middlesex

The Lawrence Academy Spartans will head out to take on Middlesex at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Lawrence Academy's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They breezed past Roxbury Latin to the tune of 27-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Spartans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Foxes are ranked 209th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Middlesex). They blew past Brooks, posting a 41-8 victory. The win continues a trend for Middlesex in their matchups with Brooks: they've now won four in a row.

The victory got Middlesex back to even at 2-2. As for Lawrence Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Everything came up roses for Lawrence Academy against Middlesex in their previous matchup back in October of 2021, as the squad secured a 31-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
