Softball Recap: Lake Park Lancers vs. Conant Cougars
Lake Park put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Conant Cougars as the Lake Park Lancers made off with a 10-2 win. Ten seems to be a good number for Lake Park as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Gaetana Calo was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (she also didn't allow any walks). Calo was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
In other batting news, Ava Arenz and Kylie Pytlak did most of the damage at the plate: Arenz fired off four doubles, three runs, and an RBI while going 4-for-4, while Pytlak went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. Alexandra Kiefer was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
On Conant's side, Tia Splitgerber made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with a home run.
Lake Park's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.
