Recap: Easley HomeSchool Guardians vs. Cambridge Academy Cougars
The Easley HomeSchool Guardians scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Cambridge Academy 37-34.
Cambridge Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Jillian Mapes and Indya Southerland. Mapes scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six steals, while Southerland scored 11 points along with three steals. Southerland has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Izzy Southerland, who scored four points.
Easley HomeSchool's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Cambridge Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Easley HomeSchool will take on Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cambridge Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Newberry Academy at 6:00 p.m.
