Volleyball Recap: Northwestern Comes Up Short

Northwestern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Clover Blue Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-16, 25-15.

Hannah Conwell paced Northwestern's offense, picking up eight kills. Conwell got some help from Piper Faile and her 12 assists. Lauren Gainey controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Northwestern's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Clover, their victory bumped their record up to 9-14.

Northwestern has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Fort Mill on the 7th. As for Clover, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Indian Land on the 9th.
