Baseball Recap: Dodd City Takes a Loss

Dodd City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 11-1 to the Collinsville Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-0 two weeks ago.

Dodd City saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Lappin, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Dodd City's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Collinsville, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-3.

Looking ahead, Dodd City will challenge Ector at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Collinsville, they will venture away from home to square off against Tioga at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
