Soccer Recap: St. Mary's Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, St. Mary was not quite Durham Academy's equal in the second half on Friday. They lost 5-1 to the Cavaliers. While losing is never fun, St. Mary's can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 197th, while Durham Academy are ranked 27th).

St. Mary's dropped their record down to 6-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Durham Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

As of now, neither St. Mary's nor Durham Academy have any future games scheduled.
