Reed hadn't done well against Reno recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, the Reed Raiders made off with a 43-42 victory over the Reno Huskies. Winning may never get old, but the Raiders sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Reed's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Faanaetaua Puloka, who posted 26 points and seven rebounds. Puloka is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Grace Maxwell, who earned 13 points.

Reno lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brookesly Wilson, who had 16 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Violet Gordon, who posted nine points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Reed's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Reno, they moved to 9-4 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Reed didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 88-8 victory against Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon on the 2nd. As for Reno, they will welcome Damonte Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Reno is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season.
