Preview: Jenkintown Drakes vs. Morrisville Bulldogs
The Jenkintown Drakes will head out on the road to face off against the Morrisville Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Jenkintown fell victim to Bristol's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 63-0 loss at the hands of the Warriors. Jenkintown was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Meanwhile, Morrisville never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past Renaissance Academy, posting a 44-0 win on the road. The result was nothing new for Morrisville, who have now won four games by 23 points or more so far this season.
Morrisville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Raymond Holman out in front who rushed for 166 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Ky?iere Rankins was another major influence, as he rushed for 65 yards and ran in a TD.
Jenkintown's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Morrisville, their victory ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-5.
Jenkintown didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Morrisville when the teams last played two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 18-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jenkintown since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
