Basketball Preview: Hayes Pacers vs. Hilliard Bradley Jaguars
Hayes is 1-7-1 against Hilliard Bradley since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Hayes Pacers are taking a road trip to face off against the Hilliard Bradley Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. Hayes has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Hayes had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 41-point drubbing they dealt Westland on Friday. Hayes blew past Westland 62-21. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Pacers just coasted through the last quarter.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hilliard Bradley). They breezed past Olentangy Orange to the tune of 61-32 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Hilliard Bradley found their leader in sophomore Tate Dudley, who went 7-for-17 on her way to 23 points and five boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dudley has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Hayley Hile, who posted six points and four steals.
The win got Hilliard Bradley back to even at 11-11. As for Hayes, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.
Hayes came up short against Hilliard Bradley in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 41-34. Can Hayes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
