Basketball Game Preview: Southwest Dragons vs. Harlandale Indians

The Southwest Dragons will square off against the Harlandale Indians at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Wednesday, Southwest humbled MacArthur with a 67-40 victory. The Dragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Harlandale, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against McCollum by a score of 79-69 on Tuesday.

Southwest has also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Harlandale, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9.

Southwest strolled past Harlandale when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 77-61. Will Southwest repeat their success, or does Harlandale have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
