Hondo lost to Carrizo Springs last Saturday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Owls snuck past the Wildcats with a 35-29 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Owls.

Carrizo Springs lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Melanie Davila, who posted ten points and four steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jennay Davila, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten boards.

Hondo's record now sits at 14-3. As for Carrizo Springs, they moved to 17-3 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Hondo and Carrizo Springs will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Owls are set to take on their familiar foe Jourdanton at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Carrizo Springs will face off against rival Somerset at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
