Volleyball Recap: Colonial Christian Cougars vs. Crosspointe Christian Academy Panthers
After flying high against Suburban Christian last Tuesday, Colonial Christian came back down to earth. The Colonial Christian Cougars took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crosspointe Christian Academy Panthers on Thursday. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Thursday.
Colonial Christian started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-15, 25-20, 25-16.
Crosspointe Christian Academy was led to victory by Emma Moore and Autumn DeArmon. Moore had 15 digs and two aces, while DeArmon had five aces. Those five aces gave DeArmon a new career-high.
Colonial Christian moved to 11-4 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Crosspointe Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.
