Basketball Recap: Jordan Kulko's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Conneaut over Wickliffe

Conneaut was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wickliffe Blue Devils. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 83-67 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Conneaut's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Kulko, who posted 19 points. The contest was Kulko's third in a row with at least ten points. Noah Hamm was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Conneaut's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Wickliffe, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conneaut will venture away from home to take on Edgewood at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Wickliffe, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Madison at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Madison knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Wickliffe likes a good challenge.
