Basketball Recap: Muskogee's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

Muskogee was the 47-39 winner over Memorial when they last played one another back in January of 2015, but their luck changed this time around. The Muskogee Roughers took a 61-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Memorial Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Roughers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Chargers are ranked 47th).

Memorial's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Antonio Love, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 19 points. That's the most points Love has posted since back in February of 2024. Isaiah Garrett was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Muskogee moved to 5-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Muskogee will welcome Stillwater at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Muskogee is facing Stillwater at the right time seeing as Stillwater is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Memorial, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Edison at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
