After only 26 points in their last contest, Axtell made sure to put some points up on the board against Wilcox-Hildreth on Friday. The Axtell Wildcats claimed a resounding 66-37 victory over the Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Axtell had a senior duo take command as Jacob Halvorsen dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds and Brandt Modlin dropped a double-double on 18 points and 17 boards. Modlin has become a key player for Axtell: the team is 6-3 when he posts at least ten rebounds, but 1-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Elijah Bergstrom, who posted 13 points and five boards.

Axtell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.

Wilcox-Hildreth lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kaleb Johnson, who had nine points and five rebounds. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Thomas Donley was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 12 boards.

Axtell's record is now 7-11. As for Wilcox-Hildreth, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Axtell will welcome Loomis at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Loomis is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.1 points per game this season. As for Wilcox-Hildreth, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Falcons face off against the Eagles on Tuesday.
