Basketball Recap: York Comes Up Short

York was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They had to suffer through a 73-37 loss at the hands of the Dreher Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Blue Devils are ranked 55th).

Deno Gilmore and Jackson Rampey certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Gilmore posted 11 points, while Rampey had six points. Gilmore continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Austin Glasscho had an outrageously good game for Dreher as he put up 20 points. The dominant performance gave Glasscho a new career-high in points. Jordan Brown was another key player, putting up 14 points.

York's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Dreher, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

York wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 66-49 loss against A.C. Flora on the 6th. As for Dreher, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-45 win against Camden on the 6th.
