On Thursday, Ponce De Leon came up short against Chipley and fell 52-43. The Pirates have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Ponce De Leon's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Blountstown, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5.

Ponce De Leon couldn't quite finish off Blountstown in their previous matchup on January 6th and fell 39-36. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Blountstown's Curtis Ellis, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 21 points and six steals.
