Basketball Game Preview: Springville Red Devils vs. Maple Mountain Golden Eagles

The Springville Red Devils will challenge the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Springville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 matchups.

Springville is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Salem Hills: they outscored them in every quarter. Springville blew past Salem Hills 72-50 on Friday. Given the Red Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Skyhawks are ranked 64th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Maple Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-47 heartbreaker at the hands of Spanish Fork.

Springville's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.6 points per game. As for Maple Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Springville didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Maple Mountain when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 59-53 win.
