Baseball Game Preview: Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials vs. Abington Galloping Ghosts

For the second straight game, Plymouth Whitemarsh will face off against Abington. The Colonials will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Galloping Ghosts at 3:45 p.m. The last three games Plymouth Whitemarsh has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Plymouth Whitemarsh let Abington stack five runs on them in the seventh inning on Monday but luckily Plymouth Whitemarsh prevailed anyway. The Colonials sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Galloping Ghosts. The win continues a trend for the Colonials in their matchups with the Galloping Ghosts: they've now won four in a row.

Bobby Pasquarello tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lucas Fresta, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Criscuolo, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run.

Plymouth Whitemarsh was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Abington is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8-1. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 3.75 runs. As for Plymouth Whitemarsh, they pushed their record up to 7-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
