Basketball Recap: Joaquin Garcia's Big Game Can't Quite Lead River Ridge over Silas

River Ridge lost against Silas back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The River Ridge Hawks took a 72-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Silas Rams. The Hawks' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

River Ridge's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joaquin Garcia, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Wendell, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points and seven assists.

River Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Silas, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 13-10.

River Ridge has already played their next matchup, a 46-36 win against North Thurston on the 8th. As for Silas, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-45 loss against Gig Harbor on the 8th.
