Basketball Game Preview: Triumph Charter Jaguars vs. Marshall Barristers

The Triumph Charter Jaguars and the Marshall Barristers will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Marshall will be up against a hot Triumph Charter team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Jaguars blew past Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences 66-22 on Saturday. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Marshall hadn't done well against Eagle Rock recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Barristers took down the Eagles 65-51. The game was the first time the Barristers have beaten the Eagles on their court since January 18, 2022.

Triumph Charter's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Marshall, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Triumph Charter suffered a grim 77-56 defeat to Marshall when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can the Jaguars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
