Football Recap: Andrews Takes a Loss

Andrews had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-9 to make it nine. They took a blow against the Hayesville Yellowjackets, falling 55-14. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-7.

As for Hayesville, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Tre Graves produced another solid performance rushing for 334 yards and four scores while picking up 18.6 yards per carry. Those 334 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Ledford, who rushed for 28 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Andrews and Hayesville are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Wildcats will head out to face off against College Prep & Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hayesville, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Highland Tech at 7:00 p.m. The Yellowjackets will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.67 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
