After a string of four wins, McGregor's good fortune finally ran out on Sunday. They fell 73-62 to the Moose Lake/Willow River Rebels. While losing is never fun, the Mercuries can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while the Rebels are ranked 167th).

McGregor's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-8. As for Moose Lake/Willow River, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Moose Lake/Willow River beat McGregor by a score of 73-62 on Monday.
