Newburgh Free Academy won the last time they faced Washingtonville and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Goldbacks blew past the Wizards 13-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Goldbacks.

The team relied heavily on Parker Mullarkey, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and one stolen base. Those triples were her first of the season. Liana Shaw was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

The win got Newburgh Free Academy back to even at 5-5. As for Washingtonville, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newburgh Free Academy will venture away from home to challenge Middletown at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Goldbacks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Middie Bears have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
