Volleyball Recap: Lake Travis Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Lake Travis proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Westlake Chaparrals. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cavaliers have posted against the Chaparrals since August 19, 2023.

Lake Travis had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 18-25, 25-19, 25-21, 15-11.

Gentry Barker paced Lake Travis' offense, picking up 24 kills. Barker got some help from Adyson Davis and her 22 assists. Davis was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Lake Travis pushed their record up to 33-11 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Westlake, they moved to 28-15 with that defeat, which also ended their five-match winning streak.

As of now, neither Lake Travis nor the Chaparrals have any future games scheduled.
