The Bogue Chitto Bobcats will challenge the Wesson Cobras at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Bogue Chitto is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Bogue Chitto came out on top against Franklin County on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run first inning. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Bulldogs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.
Jonna Claire Roberts made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Roberts was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2025.

In other batting news, Abigail Holder was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Harper Kyzar, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Bogue Chitto was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Wesson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 22-6 to Brookhaven. On the bright side, the six- run effort marked the Cobras' highest-scoring game to date.
Ady Rose Dowd made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaide Shoop, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Wesson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Bogue Chitto, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
Bogue Chitto's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's matchup. The Bobcats have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Wesson, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Bogue Chitto continue to outrun the ball?
