Softball Recap: Fort Mill Comes Up Short

Fort Mill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Cuthbertson Cavaliers, falling 8-1.

Fort Mill saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooke Rosario, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

Fort Mill's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Cuthbertson, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Mill will venture away from home to challenge Rock Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellow Jackets are facing the Bearcats at the right time seeing as the Bearcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Cuthbertson, they are taking a road trip to take on Porter Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.82 runs per game on average), something the Cavaliers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
