Basketball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence came up into this matchup off a tough 30-point loss last Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Lutheran West Longhorns by a score of 55-52 on Wednesday. The Blue Devils were up 33-19 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Lutheran West, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Independence will host Fairview at 6:45 p.m. on January 15th. As for Lutheran West, they will square off against Cornerstone Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lutheran West has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
