Softball Preview: St. Francis Troubadours vs. Pioneer Patriots

The St. Francis Troubadours will be playing at home against the Pioneer Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have allowed few runs on average, (St. Francis: 4, Pioneer: 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

St. Francis will bounce into Friday's game after beating Sheldon, who they hadn't topped in nine consecutive meetings. St. Francis skirted past Sheldon 7-5.

Alexandra Garcia and Francesca Guerrera did most of the damage at the plate: Garcia went 1-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Guerrera scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Claire Krotine, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, in what's become a running theme this season, Pioneer gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They never let Mesa Verde onto the board and left with a 19-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for Pioneer who now have ten in a row.

St. Francis has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Pioneer, they pushed their record up to 19-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
