Baseball Recap: La Veta Makes It Four in a Row at Home

La Veta won the last time they faced Antonito and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Redhawks blew past the Trojans 11-4. Considering the Redhawks have won six games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Logan Tenorio made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Matthew Gonzales was excellent, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Isiah Martinez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

La Veta pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Antonito, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

La Veta didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 21-13 defeat against Dove Creek on the 19th. As for Antonito, they have also already played their next matchup, a 9-5 victory against Non Varsity Opponent on the 21st.
