Softball Recap: Dansville Takes a Loss

Dansville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Wayland-Cohocton Eagles, falling 21-0. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 9-2 to the Eagles when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Dansville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Wayland-Cohocton, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dansville will venture away from home to face off against Avon at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Braves have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Wayland-Cohocton, they will take on Geneseo at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 1.2, the Blue Devils 1.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
