Softball Recap: Northern Durham Comes Up Short

If Northern Durham was feeling good fresh off their 19-2 takedown of Hillside on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Northern Durham came up short against Vance Charter on Wednesday, falling 15-3.

Kayley Standifer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

Northern Durham has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Vance Charter, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.
