Baseball Recap: Henley Has No Trouble Against Klamath Union

Henley won the last time they faced Klamath Union and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hornets put the hurt on the Pelicans with a sharp 13-1 victory. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by eight runs or more this season.

Mark Carpenter and Conner Shively did most of the damage at the plate: Carpenter went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles, while Shively scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most RBI Carpenter has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jacoby Tacchini, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Henley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Klamath Union only posted a batting average of .111.

Henley now has a winning record of 3-2-1. As for Klamath Union, they moved to 5-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Henley will face off against The Dalles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Riverhawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.17 runs per game on average), something the Hornets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Klamath Union, they will be playing at home against Mazama at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pelicans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
