Basketball Recap: Valley Falls Comes Up Short

Valley Falls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were beaten by the Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] Cyclones 59-28. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dragons of the 46-30 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2021.

Despite the loss, Valley Falls saw an underclassman step up: freshman Breckyn Moore posted six points and six boards. The dominant performance also gave Moore a new career-high in steals (two).

Valley Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Riverside [Wathena/Elwood], the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.

Valley Falls wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 42-34 victory against McLouth on the 13th. Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] has also already played their next game (against Troy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
