Baseball Recap: Fairfield Takes a Loss

Fairfield came into this matchup off a tough 12-run defeat last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Indian Springs Student by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Antwon Landrum was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in March. He was even better at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Cedarian Clemon was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Indian Springs, their record is now 8-9-1.

While Fairfield had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
