Volleyball Game Preview: Tintic Miners vs. Tabiona Tigers

Tintic hasn't had much luck against Tabiona recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Miners will square off against the Tigers at 3:00 p.m. Tintic will be strutting in after a victory while Tabiona will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Saturday, Tintic made easy work of Wendover and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Miners in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won six in a row.

Tintic was especially dominant in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-17, 25-10.

Ani Despain was the offensive standout of the match as she had 17 digs. That's the most digs she has posted over her last two matchups.

Tintic was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 37 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Tabiona came up short against Draper APA on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Tigers have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-15, 25-18.

Tabiona's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Tintic, their record now sits at 14-5.

Tintic suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Tabiona in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Can the Miners avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
