Preview: Orlando Christian Prep Warriors vs. iSchool of Lewisville Cougar
The Orlando Christian Prep Warriors will square off against the iSchool of Lewisville Cougar at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Orlando Christian Prep will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Last Tuesday, Orlando Christian Prep didn't have too much trouble with Harmony at home as they won 54-39. Given Orlando Christian Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while Harmony is ranked 90th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Orlando Christian Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Darius Washington, III, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds. Washington, III has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ameer Ramadan, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, iSchool of Lewisville got the win against White Hall on Saturday by a conclusive 63-43. The victory was just what iSchool of Lewisville needed coming off of a 82-47 defeat in their prior game.
ISchool of Lewisville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylen Lawal led the charge by scoring 15 points along with 6 rebounds. The contest was Lawal's third in a row with at least ten points. Romiel Carter was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with 6 rebounds.
The wins kept both teams' perfect 4-0 season records intact.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Orlando Christian Prep hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 59.2 points per game. However, it's not like iSchool of Lewisville struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 56.7 per game. The only thing between Orlando Christian Prep and another offensive beatdown is iSchool of Lewisville. Will they be able to keep them contained?
